Please, if you go to Croatia, dedicate a few days to be able to explore it well! It has so many beautiful places…
Let's talk about Dubrovnik. It's small and that's why the general recommendations may be that with 2 or 3 days it's enough. But we really think it deserves more time. The center is small but it has so many beautiful places and beaches in its surroundings…
#GuestTravelTips: Do not rent a car because the streets are tiny and it will be very difficult for you to park. If you are well located near the center, you do everything on foot… The best option is to rent a motorbike. Cheap, super practical, it allows you to cover slightly longer distances and travel beyond the center of the city.
If you are a Game of Thrones fan, the Piley Gate and the walls are a must, as well as Fort Lovrijenac, the Minceta Tower and everything around the Old Port. There you have Stradun street, the main street with lots of shops and little bars.
Near the port you'll find the 360º Restaurant with very nice views of the fort, the port and the city. You have to book in advance.
BEACHES/ISLANDS
BANJE
One of the most popular beaches of Dubrovnik. It is usually very crowded. It is a good choice if you go with friends; there is music, drinks, and a lot of young people.

ST JACOB
It is relatively close but a little more hidden so there is less people than Banje. It used to be a more deserted beach but it started to become fashionable so don't expect it to be super super quiet but it's surely not as crowded as the previous beach.
It is for another target as well, more couples and families.

COPACABANA BEACH
It's a bit further but worth it. Very very cute. There is a mix of young people, couples and families. Since it has a spot with a cool bar but also a part with things for small kids.
Anyway it is huge and well laid out.

CAVA BEACH
Very close to Copacabana. It is one of the most beautiful beaches. It has a very good restaurant for lunch (it's expensive), lounge chairs to chill out, crystal clear water, and good music with a young target.
ISLANDS
There are many islands around Dubrovnik to go both to explore for the day and to stay for a few days as well. Our recommendations:
BRAC, SIPAN, LOPUD, KOLOCEP, KORKULA, LOKRUM, SPLIT, HVAR AND MLINI
There really are many and they are all spectacular. Split and Hvar are worth to stay for a few days. You can do 3 days in Dubrovnik and 3 days in Hvar, for example.
We made a separate guide to be able to tell you more about this island and about Mlini, our chosen one for the day while staying in Hvar. Discover this guide by clicking HERE.
BARS AND NIGHTCLUBS
Ludwig Bar or Buza Bar. The latter is very cool and is located on the walls over the sea. It is a must. We recommend going in the afternoon. You have to go early because later it's hard to find a table, it's very small and steep! Take a look:
RESTAURANTS
Amoret: just in front the cathedral with outside tables, before Buza Bar. Very good and excellent customer service!
Azur: Just right before entering Buzar Bar, you have to book in advance.
Tezoro: In between the little narrow streets. Very familiar. It has a cute hotel.
ACTIVITIES
Check for kayak tours in Dubrovnik through the caves!
Another thing to do, as said above, is the trips to the islands. The truth is they are all paradisiac!
Something very nice to do if you have the time is to go to the Plitvice natural park. It is impressive, but it is far away. You would have to rent a car or go by bus. If you are going to take one of the tours around the park, ask for the "beginner" which lasts 4 hours. We also recommend renting bikes and getting lost around the amazing green landscape.

To end this guide we leave you with some city images so you can fall in love with beautiful Dubrovnik:
