By simply taking the subway or walking across the famous Brooklyn Bridge (we recommend it!) you can cross to Brooklyn and enjoy a walk through Dumbo and its suburbs.

#GuestTravelTips: For one of the best views, stop at Washington St and Water St. (from here you can see the Empire State Building from outside the island!). We leave you our picture at the end of this guide.

When crossing, before entering Dumbo, you can go to the residential streets that are in Brooklyn Heights Promenade while enjoying the view of Manhattan from across the water. When hitting Pier 5, it is best to start going up Columbia Street and just get lost in the neighborhood, go into Park Slope and randomly walk at your own pace. It's the best way to get to know the real Brooklyn.

We recommend walking until you reach Fulton Street. This street is quite a catch! For those looking to shop, you can find outlets (called Factory Stores) of brands such as: Gap, Banana Republic and American Eagle. There is not much else to see, but we recommend going if you are looking for very low prices!

Nice neighborhoods in Brooklyn: Greenpoint, Prospect Height and the already mentioned Park Slope.

For other clothing stores you also have the fair: Beacon's Closet. They sell used but dry-cleaned clothing: 88 N 11th St., Brooklyn.

Another very nice part of Brooklyn is the Dumbo area. With an ice cream from the well-known Ice Cream Factory in hand, walk through the very iconic streets that exist in this area and walk along the pier (it is very normal to find brides dressed in white taking photos with the landscape!).

You can find great specialty coffee at SEY. Nearby, you have Winson (15min). Please try the Taiwan pancake with bacon, egg, cheese and green onion.

The best bagels in Brooklyn are the ones at: Frankel's Deli and Leon's Bagels.

Best donuts: Peter Pan.

And best croissants: L'Appartement 4F (bakery)

The best pastrami sandwich: Katz's. You can also find them at Lower East Side.

Good Italian place: Misi.

And great pizza at: FINI.

For breakfast: EGG, at 109 N 3rd St between Berry & Wythe, Brooklyn NY 11249.

If you are looking for plant based options, you need to try RAS. An Ethiopian restaurant in which its owners Romeo and Milka recreate dishes from their family tradition.

Another great tip: at sunset, have a cold beer on the terrace of: Ides – Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn.

In Downtown de Brooklyn you can find a very cool book store: McNally Jackson.

Waiting for the sun to go down a bit and approaching the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge is undoubtedly the best idea! Enjoy the sunset with all the views of the city and, when you want to return, in just 20 minutes you are already in Manhattan. It seems very long but it doesn't take long to cross it!

If you are tired, you have ferries (the ticket is rather expensive) or you take what they call "ferry “taxis” which is much cheaper, and it's a nice way to end the day going back across the water with the sun going down!

A nice spot to chill or take something to eat/drink with views to the water and NYC: Domino Park.

Also, on this side of the bridge you have the Williamsburg neighborhood.
